I have a feeling that this will be the worst team wvu has for the next four years at least, going into 2013.
That is not saying that this team will disappoint, but with the way WVU is recruiting in comparison with other teams in the Big East and considering how young much or most of WVU's talent is, especially on offense, the chances are good that the team is bound to improve.
If the Mountaineers win big this year, it will be great, but next year's team, for example, still returns most of its defense from this year, although losing Reed Williams will hurt.
The offense in almost every position will be way more battle-tested next season. This is especially true for the offensive line.
So I have a hard time being as worried about the state of the WVU program at this point as some are.. The guys on Bill Stewart's staff seem to be capable throughout and they are recruiting fools, some help me, Doc Holliday. When I say fools, I mean it in a good way.
I would love to see your thoughts on this matter.

Good point. Although, I feel to maintain recruiting WVU has to win ten games. Injuries, especially early in the season, will kill this team. By mid-season depth won’t be the issue it is at the beginning.
Should WVU get past the injury hurdle, and compile a solid season, the “sky” is literally the limit. Another top 25 recruiting class, in addition to the young talent currently in place, and WVU will be loaded.
In my opinion, it all hinges on the first six games. Auburn and East Carolina in particular. Should we make it past those two teams, WVU will be rolling. Momentum, for a young team, is crucial. The following three weeks will see WVU face Marshall, and Syracuse with a bye mixed in. I realize I skipped two games. I just don’t see WVU losing at home to Colorado, or Liberty.

There's no doubt about skill position players (Top of the line talent ,great coaches), depth on both lines is really the only concern I have right now, solve that and I have no longterm concerns at all regarding the team. That is until or unless the conference takes actions that solidify strenght ("expansion"  ,long longterm I worry about alot!  |
