MORGANTOWN - West Virginia University sophomore Devin Ebanks announced Monday that he will make himself available for the National Basketball Association's 2010 draft.

"I have decided to enter my name into the 2010 NBA draft," Ebanks said in a prepared statement from WVU. "I spoke to my mother and the coaching staff, and we have decided that I should explore my options to pursue a dream that I have had since I was a little kid.

"I want to thank West Virginia University, my coaches, my teammates and all the great fans."

WVU Coach Bob huggins praised the 6-foot-9 sophomore from Long Island city, N.Y.

"I certainly enjoyed coaching Devin for two years," Huggins said. "He was extremely coachable and was a great teammate. We certainly wish him the best for a long and prosperous career."

As a sophomore, Ebanks averaged 12.0 points per game and led the team in rebounds, averaging 8.1 boards per game. WVU finished with a school-record 31 victories, won the Big East Conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Final Four.

The 2010 NBA Draft is scheduled June 24 at Madison Square Garden.
